How to Use Online Notepad (Step-by-Step)

1. Start Writing Immediately: Click into the main canvas and start typing. The notepad creates an initial note and names it automatically from your first sentence.

2. Manage Multiple Notes: Click the "+ New Note" button on the top-left sidebar to open a fresh page. You can switch between active notes, duplicate templates, or delete old drafts whenever you like.

3. Sync with Another Device: When you want to continue writing on your phone or tablet, click "Cloud Sync", enter any 10-digit number (or generate a random code), and scan the instant QR code with your phone camera.

4. Export Anytime: Download your note as a clean .txt file, export as Markdown (.md), or click Print / PDF to save a clean document without any website borders.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Your notes are saved continuously to your local device storage. When you reopen the page or launch your browser again, all your notes and text will be right where you left them.

When you save with your 10-digit number, your notes are encrypted and stored in cloud edge workers. Only someone who enters your exact 10-digit code can retrieve the notes. For personal security, please avoid storing sensitive passwords or financial credentials.

If you already have notes on your computer and restore a cloud backup from your phone, clicking "Keep Both" ensures none of your work is overwritten. It preserves your existing notes and places the cloud notes alongside them in your sidebar.

Clicking the "Clipboard" button lets you push your note directly to Getsmore's Online Clipboard under your chosen code. This lets you paste text across multiple devices in seconds.
