Use Cases
URL cloaking is essential for maintaining privacy, aesthetics, and security.
- Mask Affiliate Links: Turn long, ugly tracking URLs into clean, professional links that look trustworthy.
- Secure Sharing: Use the password feature to send sensitive links that only the intended recipient can open.
- Prevents Link Stripping: Some platforms strip parameters from URLs; cloaking preserves the full destination integrity.
- Clean Presentation: Shorten complex URLs for use in bios, emails, and social media posts.
Example
Suppose you have a long affiliate link like this:
After cloaking, it becomes a clean Getsmore link:
When a user clicks this, they are instantly redirected to the original product page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my data secure?
Yes. The URL cloaking and password encryption happen entirely on your device (client-side). Your original URL is encoded into the new link itself, not stored in our database. We cannot see your original link.
Does Getsmore track clicks?
No. Since we don't store the links on a server, we cannot track who clicks them or how many times they are visited. Your analytics (if any) on the destination URL remain private to you.
What happens if I lose the password?
If you password-protect a link and forget the password, the link cannot be opened. Because the password is part of the encryption key and not stored by us, we cannot recover it for you.
Are these links permanent?
Yes. The data is embedded in the URL string itself. As long as the Getsmore.in domain is active, your link will work.
